The client was a challenger bank looking to further enhance its Risk Management Framework to align to industry practice and to the PRA expectations.
We were hired to:
- Evaluate the state of the bank’s internal risk management capabilities;
- Develop a vision for an ideal target state for its Risk function;
- Design a detailed plan to achieve the target state.
Our approach was to deploy our RMF maturity assessment tool to assess current state of internal capabilities vs targeted state defined through workshops. We then conducted a gap analysis which fed into an enhancement roadmap.
Our client gained a clear understanding of the near-term steps required to better align its Risk Management Framework to peer practices and regulatory expectations. Our recommendations and development prioritisation gave the client a holistic view of the state of its risk capabilities and an understanding of current gaps and a plan to achieve the targeted state.
